Graphics for Fusion Physics
|
General Atomics' Educational Outreach Program has commissioned an educational CDROM targeted at middle and high school students. The package will include a data resource much like an encyclopedia of fusion physics, and a game that teaches kids some of the fundamentals of fusion, and the technology behind developing a fusion power plant. |

Terri Larsen will be discussing the production and development of this work-in-progress. The original images and animations are created in Alias version 8, and some of the imagery uses CAD data for a experimental fusion vessel, the tokamak. Terri has created models to illustrate atoms, plasma and the magnetic fields that confine it, and will have some of the interactive modules in the game and test animations to show during the presentation. |
