The Reuben H. Fleet Science Center's new planetarium projector, the Digistar II from the 3D veterans at Evans and Sutherland in Utah, is used mainly to project stars and constellations for planetarium shows. But it is the first digital planetarium projector, and is fully programmable to do 3D points and lines in the immersive dome environment. The staff at the Fleet have agreed to work with us to produce this event, showing you the winners of our 3D model contest, along with a look at some of the 3d tricks the projector can do.
Click here for information on entering the contest (deadline 13 June 2003).
